Practice.

What this is.

You bring a question about your life or work that keeps returning. Perhaps a decision makes sense on paper but leaves you uneasy. Perhaps something you worked toward has happened, and you are unsure what follows. We give the question time and think it through together. You keep the authority over your own life.

Who this is for.

People with advisors for everything and counsel for nothing. Founders after the exit. Executives whose next step no longer follows from the last one. Researchers whose field is moving under their feet. People whom the machines have made faster and not clearer.

How it works.

We meet in conversation, in Stuttgart or by video, usually for an hour. You can begin with what has been on your mind; the question does not need to be neatly formed. I listen, ask questions, and think alongside you. We may stay with a distinction, an assumption, or something you find difficult to say.

If we continue, we usually meet some weeks apart. Between conversations there is time to notice how what we discussed meets your life.

What I bring.

Philosophy and contemplative practice have shaped how I think and listen. Before either, I spent two years as a personal assistant to severely disabled people. Nothing since has taught me more about attention. That experience belongs here as much as the formal thought. There is more on my background page.

The boundaries.

This is not therapy, and I do not prescribe decisions or a program to follow. If what you bring calls for another kind of support, I will say so.

The first conversation.

The first conversation is free and it obliges you to nothing. It gives us both a chance to see whether thinking together is useful to you. Write a few lines about what has been on your mind: contact@martinmaga.com.
