1. Principle

This website is built to be frugal with data. It sets no cookies, uses no tracking and no analytics services, embeds no content from third-party servers, and serves even its fonts from its own server. Simply visiting this website therefore produces only the technical data that every web server needs in order to operate.

One playful exception: clicking the full stop on the front page switches the site's accent colors, and this choice is kept in your browser's session storage so it survives navigation between pages. It is stored only on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is deleted automatically when you close the tab. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you request by clicking and therefore requires no consent (Section 25(2) TDDDG).

3. Legal bases

Personal data is processed on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German TDDDG: for technical operation on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and for answering your inquiries on the basis of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

4. Server logs

This website is hosted by netcup GmbH (Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany) on a server located in Vienna, Austria. When the website is accessed, technical data is processed automatically: IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, browser type and operating system, and the referrer URL. This data serves only the secure operation of the website and its protection against abuse, and is deleted after seven days. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with netcup GmbH.

5. Contact by e-mail

If you write to me by e-mail, I store what you send (name, e-mail address, the content of your message) in order to handle your inquiry and possible follow-up questions. I do not pass this data on without your consent, and I delete it as soon as it is no longer needed for that purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Link to LinkedIn

The background page links to my LinkedIn profile. It is a plain link with no embedded content: simply visiting this website transmits no data to LinkedIn. If you follow the link, the privacy policy of LinkedIn applies.

7. Your rights

You have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent you have given (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). To exercise them, write to contact@martinmaga.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Baden-Württemberg the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
