Privacy.
1. Principle
This website sets no cookies, uses no tracking or analytics services, embeds no content from third-party servers, and serves its fonts from its own server. Reading ordinary pages produces the technical data described under server logs. Optional live presentations additionally process the interaction data described below.
Two playful exceptions: clicking the full stop on the front page switches the site's accent colors, and the switch in the header chooses the day or night view. Each choice is kept in your browser's session storage so it survives navigation between pages. It is stored only on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is deleted automatically when you close the tab. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you request by clicking and therefore requires no consent (Section 25(2) TDDDG).
Interactive presentations can synchronize slides and drawings and offer audience polls. Joining a live session connects your browser to this website's own server. Voting creates a random identifier in your browser tab's session storage, scoped to that deck and live session. The identifier and your current choice are sent to the server so a changed vote replaces the previous choice. Other participants receive aggregate counts, not individual vote records. Live state remains in server memory until a new session starts, the session is reset, the service restarts, or an inactive room is cleaned up. Ending a session closes voting and synchronization immediately and temporarily retains aggregate results. Sessions end automatically after three hours without presenter activity. Slidev also stores presentation preferences locally in your browser.
Camera, microphone, and screen capture require your browser's permission. Presentation recordings stay on the recording device and are downloaded locally. The live service does not receive or broadcast media. A recording is published only through a separate deliberate upload. Private presentation files and live endpoints require authentication.
